Welcome to my Blog. I hope you find the content usefull and I look forward to seeing you again!!

Do you participate in a program such as Google Adsense or Yahoo Publisher’s Network

If so, you are in effect an affiliate. As an affiliate, your main task is to get traffic to your advertisements, which you have displayed on your website…if and when this happens, you get paid.  This may sound easy, but without any internet traffic visiting your website, there can be no one to click on one of your advertisements…resulting in no profit. And with an unlimited number of websites to choose from in Cyber Space, getting traffic may seem like an overwhelming process.  While it can be, there are a number of ways that you can successfully increase your traffic, and, in turn, the amount of profit there is to be made as an affiliate.

As an affiliate, your main goal is to get your visitors to view your website or proposal.  While any traffic is better than no traffic at all, you must always aim for high quality traffic.  High quality traffic should only ever include those internet users who are looking for something that you are selling, whether it is information on working from home, caring for a sick pet, or something tangible like a CD, or a book. High quality traffic should also include internet users who are likely to click on your advertisements.

One such place to visit is 'Smallbusiness', which will place your business advertisement in search results on Yahoo!

Another way to get high quality visitors to your website is to have high quality content.  With website content, many of us only associate content with search engine rankings.

High quality content is an important part of search engine optimization, SEO; it can and should be used for more.  The majority of internet users actually read the information that they find online; therefore, there is a good chance that your website content will actually be read.  Having interesting and easy to read content will ensure that your visitors don’t take one look at your website and then leave, once a visitor leaves your website…it’s for good.

It is also important to be aware that high quality content is likely to attract better advertisements. There are a number of very good websites out there you would find of use, just do a Google search and a number will appear, but one of the best ‘Free’ content Websites as to be: EzineArticles. Where freely download articles to use on your Website or Blog, you just have to leave the authors links in the text…a small price to pay when you consider the time and effort of writing your own.

The design of your website is also important, in fact, it may be more important than your content.  Your website must look professional, attractive, and appealing.  Unfortunately, there are many webmasters who mistakenly believe that their websites need to be flashy, literally, with far too much going on, making it very hard to navigate and find what you are looking for.

Although flash intros are neat, you might be surprised to hear that many internet users… don’t like them.  In fact, a large number of internet users are known to avoid these sites, especially if they do not have a ‘skip intro’ button.  You will want to go with plain, simple, yet professional looking and well laid out sites. If you need assistance with the design of your website, you may want to think about hiring the services of a professional web designer.

Apart from the out lay of your website design, you must always take grate care where you place your advertisement.  Believe it or not, but where you place your ad will have a large impact on how often they get clicked.  If you are a Google Adsense member  you should have access to what is known as a Google Heat Map’

It’s a very useful map that gives you suggestions on where you should place your advertisements.  Following this outline or a similar one will increase your chances of more clicks.  If you choose not to use Google’s map, you will at least want to remember to keep all of your advertisements above the fold.

Your site visitors should always be able to click on your advertisements right away; they shouldn’t have to scroll down through your website to do so.  In fact, if you have poor content on your website, or if your site’s layout is unprofessional, your visitors will more than likely never even scroll down to see your ads.

As I have mentioned above, all traffic is better than no traffic at all, however, as you can see, it is relatively easy to aim for high quality traffic, so don’t compromise.  That is why you are highly urged to target those visitors that will help you generate the income you seek.

P.S.  High quality traffic is relatively easy to acquire and the positive results will be easy to spot.
